The trick with a blog is to get people to contribute. Another issue is to watch out for black hat hackers. Ensure that you set your blog to ‘moderated’ postings.
This protects everyone. Sometimes the level of discussion is a bit mundane.
My son-in-law and I often post to each other’s blog. (http://smellslikefries.blogspot.com) It is helpful to have family and friends contribute to a discussion.
Having connections to sites like Facebook, with a large number of friends, increases traffic. I have an actor ‘friend’ with 576 friends.

Hi Richard
Just got your post on commenting on blogs – very timely as I have just made a goal of doing this more regularly. It really works. Jennifer (posted her message above) is a fellow cottage owner here in Ontario and she comments on my blog too. So, it becomes more of a community as you recognise other bloggers on the networks.
