My son-in-law and I often post to each other's blog. (http://smellslikefries.blogspot.com) It is helpful to have family and friends contribute to a discussion. Having connections to sites like Facebook, with a large number of friends, increases traffic. I have an actor 'friend' with 576 friends. The trick with a blog is to get people to contribute.
